A man has been arrested after a 37-year-old was ‘stabbed’ in a murder bid in Glasgow.

Emergency services were called to Carnwadric Road at around 11.35pm on Thursday evening following reports that a man had been seriously injured.

A 37-year-old man was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, where his condition is described as serious but stable.

Police confirmed on Friday that a 44-year-old man has been arrested in connection and enquiries into the incident are ongoing.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 11.35pm on Thursday, July 17, we received a report of a 37-year-old man injured after being seriously assaulted on Carnwadric Road, Glasgow.

“Police and ambulance attended, and the injured man was taken by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where staff describe his condition as serious but stable.

“The incident is being treated as attempted murder.

“A 44-year-old man has been arrested in connection and enquiries are ongoing.”
