A man has appeared in court charged with murdering a woman in her own home.
Michael Dorey, 46, is accused of repeatedly striking Jacqueline Grant, 54, on the head and body with a knife on April 6 this year at the property in Glasgow’s Maryhill.
Dorey faces a further charge of attempting to pervert the course of justice at the same time and place.
It is claimed Dorey – having murdered Jacqueline – “did remove a key and keyring from the property, lock the front door and dispose of the key”.
He faces an alternative charge of attempting to defeat the ends of justice.
Dorey made no plea at a private hearing in Glasgow Sheriff Court and was represented by lawyer Ian Sievwright.
Dorey, of the city’s Haghill, was remanded pending further examination and will appear in court again within eight days.
