A suspect has appeared in court charged with the murder of a man whose remains were found on the shore of Loch Lomond.

Graham Wright’s remains were discovered on Rubha Dubh, near Firkin Point, on September 13.

The 38-year-old was reported missing on August 25 after being last seen on August 20 in the Gorbals area of Glasgow.

On Monday, David McColl appeared at Glasgow Sheriff Court charged with murder, attempting to defeat the ends of justice and breaching bail. The 50-year-old allegedly assaulted Mr Wright.

He made no plea and was committed for further examination.

He was remanded in custody and will appear in court again within the next eight days.

The charge comes after John Roarty appeared in court charged with attempting to defeat the ends of justice in connection with the death.

The 38-year-old appeared at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Thursday, where he made no plea and was remanded in custody.

Police say extensive enquiries are ongoing.
