A man has appeared in court charged with murdering another man in a flat in Glasgow.

Police locked down Southcroft Street, in Govan, at around 7pm on Friday after a 23-year-old man was found seriously injured within a flat.

Stephen Gray was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 31-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with Mr Gray’s death.

Gavin Gallagher, of the city’s Cardonald, appeared at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Monday charged with murder.

He made no plea, was committed for further examination and remanded in custody.

He is due to return to court within eight days.

Previously, detective chief inspector Hannah Edward said: “Our thoughts are with Stephen’s family and friends at this very difficult time.”
