A second man has appeared in court charged in connection with the death of Alan Lawson.

Bryan Carey appeared at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court on Wednesday charged with attempting to defeat the ends of justice.

The 27-year-old from Ardrossan made no plea and has been committed for further examination and released on bail.

A further court appearance has yet to be confirmed.

Alan Lawson, from Saltcoats, died in hospital on February 6 after being assaulted at a property on Alexander Avenue, Largs.

Jordan Honeyman appeared at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court on February 20 charged with the murder of Mr Lawson and attempting to defeat the ends of justice.

The 29-year-old made no plea and was committed for further examination and remanded in custody.
