A man has appeared in court charged with the attempted murder of a man who was allegedly stabbed in Greenock.
Emergency services were called to the property on Greenock’s Lyle Street on Wednesday at around 3.15pm following reports of a serious assault.
A 46-year-old man was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment.
An injured dog was taken to a vet for treatment.
Brian McGhee, 54, appeared at Greenock Sheriff Court on Friday charged with assault to severe injury, permanent disfigurement, danger of life and attempted murder.
He made no plea and was remanded in custody to appear in court again within the next eight days.
