A man has appeared at court accused of hitting his pregnant wife with a car.

Karar Nasir allegedly assaulted his partner on a street in Glasgow’s Milton on September 13, 2021.

The 31-year-old is claimed to have then drove towards her and attempted to strike her on the body again.

Court papers state Nasir also behaved in a threatening or abusive manner towards her at the same time and place.

It is alleged Nasir repeatedly shouted and swore at her.

Both charges are aggravated by involving abuse of a partner or ex-partner.

Further allegations include Nasir driving the silver Mercedes C180 while only holding a provisional licence and without insurance.

A final charge claims that Nasir gave false information to police officers – stating his name was Moses Ali and that he was five years younger.

Nasir pled not guilty on Wednesday at Glasgow Sheriff Court to the five charges.

A further hearing was fixed for next month by sheriff Sean Murphy QC.
