A man and a woman have been taken to hospital after an attack at a sports complex in East Kilbride on Wednesday.
Emergency services were called to the Murray Recreation Area following reports of an assault at around 9.30pm.
A woman, aged 39, and a man, aged 45, were taken to the hospital. Police Scotland said that their injuries were not believed to be life-threatening.
The man was arrested in connection with the incident.
An investigation into the circumstances surrounding the assault is still ongoing.
Officers remain on the scene, and a cordon is in place.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Officers are conducting enquiries on a recreational area off Murray Road, East Kilbride, following the report of an assault.
“Emergency services attended the area at around 9.30pm on Wednesday, April 30. A 39-year-old woman and 45-year-old man were treated by the ambulance service and taken to hospital. Their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
“The 45-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident and enquiries remain ongoing.”
