Man and woman found dead in tent from 'carbon monoxide poisoning'

A man and woman have been found dead inside a tent at the side of a loch in Argyll and Bute.

Emergency services were called to a tent on the east side of Loch Awe, in Dalmally, at around 4.25pm on Saturday.

A 55-year-old man and 47-year-old woman were found deceased within.

STV News understands the deaths are suspected to be from carbon monoxide, related to a camping stove. 

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “”Around 4.25pm on Saturday, June 7, a 55-year-old man and 47-year-old woman were found deceased within a tent on the east side of Loch Awe, Dalmally, Argyll and Bute.

“Their deaths are not being treated as suspicious.

“A report was submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
