A man and a woman have been convicted of the murder of a woman in Ayr.

The body of Susan Turner was found in a flat in the town’s Nursery Hall at 10.15am on March 27, 2023.

Michelle Ramage had been accused, along with her then-partner Jason Bell, 51, and Ryan Hill, 27, of attacking the 41-year-old at a flat in Ayr on March 25 and 26, 2023.

The 43-year-old’s KC Tony Lenehan told jurors at the High Court in Glasgow on Friday, January 23, that she was now pleading guilty to the murder charge.

Following a trial at the High Court in Glasgow, Ryan Hill was found guilty of Mrs Turner’s murder.

Detective inspector Keith Runcie said: “Our thoughts remain with Susan’s family and friends and I hope the convictions offers them some solace at what is a very difficult and sad time for them.

“This was a complex enquiry and I would like to thank the local community for their patience and assistance throughout our investigation.

“Violence such as this is never acceptable in our communities and we will work tirelessly to ensure those responsible are brought to justice.”
