Emergency services were called to Sharphill Road in Saltcoats at around 12.50pm on Wednesday after being alerted to the incident.
Officers charged a 52-year-old man and a woman in connection with the disturbance.
He is due to appear at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court at a later date.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 12.50pm on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, officers received a report of a disturbance on Sharphill Road, Saltcoats.
“A 52-year-old man was arrested and charged, and a woman was charged, in connection.
“The man is due to appear at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court at a later date.”
