Two people have been charged in connection with a fatal crash in Glasgow earlier this year which took the life of a student.
On February 2, 33-year-old Chinenye Vera Okonkwo was killed when she was struck by a car on St Vincent Street around 7.40pm.
Police have now confirmed a 29-year-old woman and a 28-year-old man have been arrested and released pending further inquiry.
They were reported to the Procurator Fiscal on Tuesday and they are due to appear in court at a later date.
Ms Okonkwo, from Nigeria, was a student at Glasgow Caledonian University studying public health.
Tributes poured in following her death in February, including from the university’s principal and vice-chancellor Professor Steve Decent who said: “It is with great sadness that we heard of the passing of Chinenye Okonkwo in a tragic road traffic accident.
“We offer our sincere condolences to Chinenye’s family and friends and our thoughts are with them at this very difficult time.
“This is a terrible shock for our community, especially those who knew Chinenye. Our Student Wellbeing Team is available to provide support to those who need it.”
