Man and woman arrested after shop 'trashed' during disturbance

A man and woman have been been arrested following a disturbance at a shop in Paisley.

The incident took place in the town’s Causeyside Street on Saturday night.

Police were called to the scene at around 7.15pm and arrested a 31-year-old woman and 48-year-old man.

A video posted to social media appears to show the inside of the store with shelves taken off the walls and goods strewn across the floor.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 7.15pm on Saturday, August 24, we were called to an ongoing incident where a man and a woman were causing a disturbance within a takeaway shop in Causeyside Street, Paisley.

“Officers attended and a 31-year-old woman and a 48-year-old man were arrested and charged in connection and will be the subject of a report to the Procurator Fiscal.”
