A man and a dog were injured after an alleged stabbing in a home on Wednesday.
Emergency services were called to the property on Greenock’s Lyle Street at around 3.15pm following reports of a serious assault.
A 46-year-old man was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment after he was reportedly stabbed.
An injured dog was taken to a vet for treatment. Officers have arrested a 54-year-old man, and enquiries are ongoing.
Police remain on the scene.
Detective inspector Nicky Beattie said: “Around 3.15pm on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, police received a report of the serious assault of a man at a property on Lyle Street, Greenock.
“Emergency services attended and the 46-year-old man was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment.
“A 54-year-old man has been arrested and enquiries are ongoing.
“This appears to be an isolated incident and there is no risk to the wider public. There will be a continued police presence in the area and anyone with any concerns can approach these officers.”
