A man is in a critical condition in hospital after falling ill at a luxury resort in Argyll and Bute.
Emergency services were called to Portavadie Spa, near Tighnabruaich, on Thursday after receiving a report that a man had taken unwell.
The man was airlifted to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow for treatment.
The resort on the shores of Loch Fyne has a number of luxury apartments and holiday cottages, with swimming pools, a spa and marina.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 1.30pm on Thursday, 29 June 2023, police were called to a resort in Portavadie after a report that a man had taken unwell within.
“He was taken by air ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow where remains for treatment.
“Medical staff describe his condition as critical. Enquiries are ongoing.”
Portavadie resort has been contacted for comment.
