A suspect has been charged after a man was airlifted to hospital after being stabbed in Kirkcudbright.
Emergency services were called around 4pm on Monday to reports of a man being stabbed on Johnston Place.
An air ambulance was deployed to the scene, alongside an ambulance and a resuscitation rapid response unit.
One man was airlifted to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow.
Police confirmed a 19-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the incident.
He is due to appear at Dumfries Sheriff Court on Tuesday.
A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We received a call at 4.14pm on June 29 to attend an incident on Johnston Place, Kirkcudbright.
“An ambulance, a resuscitation rapid response unit (3RU) and an air ambulance with a critical care team were dispatched to the scene.
“One patient was transported by air ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.”
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 4.20pm on Monday, June 29, 2026, police received a report a man had been stabbed on Johnstone Place, Kirkcudbright.
“Emergency services attended and a man was airlifted to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow for treatment.
“A 19-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the incident.
“He is due to appear at Dumfries Sheriff Court on Tuesday, June 30, 2026.”
