A man has been airlifted to hospital with serious injuries after a collision involving two jet skis.
The incident happened in the water near Gatehouse of Fleet in Dumfries and Galloway at around 5.35pm on Saturday.
Police said a 42-year-old man was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow by air ambulance for treatment.
A spokesperson for the Coastguard said: “HM Coastguard responded to reports of an incident involving a jet ski at Wigtown Bay yesterday.
“Alerted at around 5pm, Isle of Whithorn and Kirkcudbright Coastguard Rescue Teams and an inshore lifeboat from Kirkcudbright RNLI were sent to the scene.
“A casualty was taken to hospital by air ambulance.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland added: “We were made aware of a collision involving two jet-skis in water near Gatehouse of Fleet around 5.35pm on Saturday.
“A 42-year-old man was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow by air ambulance for treatment to serious injuries.
“Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.”
