A man is to stand trial accused of sexually assaulting two women at a funeral directors.

James Jarvie, 62, allegedly attacked the pair at several Foster’s funeral homes between April 1 and November 12, 2023.

Court papers state Jarvie attacked one woman on various occasions at locations in Rutherglen and Cumbernauld, Lanarkshire, Greenock, Inverclyde, Clydebank, West Dunbartonshire as well as Newton Mearns, East Renfrewshire.

A second woman is claimed to have been groped by Jarvie at Foster’s Rutherglen branch.

Jarvie faces another charge against the same woman in which he is alleged to have directed sexual verbal communication at her by uttering remarks about her appearance.

Jarvie, of Rutherglen, is also accused of an identical charge against the first woman.

This charge states that he also uttered remarks about her appearance, requested to be touched intimately, asked her to kiss him and made comments about sex to her.

Jarvie pleaded not guilty at a hearing at Glasgow Sheriff Court to the four charges.

A trial was set for August this year by Sheriff Matthew Jackson KC.
