A man has appeared in court accused of murdering a 23-year-old mum in her home in Glasgow.
Alexander Brennan, 52, allegedly assaulted Brodie MacGregor at the flat on Elmvale Street, Springburn on Monday, August 26, 2024.
Court papers claim Brennan repeatedly struck Ms MacGregor on the face, head and body with broken glass bottles.
It is claimed Brennan inflicted further blunt force trauma to Ms MacGregor’s head by unknown means.
The charge is aggravated by involving abuse of Brennan’s “partner or ex-partner.”
Ms MacGregor was found dead inside her home at 10.15am on the day of the alleged incident.
Brennan made no plea at a private hearing at Glasgow Sheriff Court to the single charge.
He was represented by his lawyer Calum Weir.
Brennan, of Stenhousemuir, was committed for further examination and remanded in custody by Sheriff Daniel Kelly.
Brennan will appear at court again within the next eight days.
