A man is fighting for his life in hospital after being found injured in Renfrewshire.
The 65-year-old was discovered within the close of a property on Johnstone High Street at around 10.30pm on Sunday.
Emergency services attended and he was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment to his injuries that medical staff have described as “life threatening”.
Police are now investigating the incident and have appealed for witnesses in a bid to establish the full circumstances.
Detective Inspector Robert Bowie, of Paisley CID, said: “Our enquiries are ongoing into the incident and how this man came to be injured.
“I would urge anyone who may have assisted the man or witnessed what happened to come forward.
“Anyone with information should call police via 101, quoting incident 3711 of 3 April, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
