A man has been seriously injured following an assault in Paisley.

The incident happened in Blackstoun Oval at around 2.30pm on Saturday, July, 18.

The 51-year-old was taken to hospital for treatment.

Police are carrying out enquiries.

Detective Constable Gillian Berry said: “Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances and we are appealing to anyone who saw what happened to get in touch.

“Please check any private CCTV you have and let us know if something has been captured that could assist with our investigation.

“If you were driving in the area around the time of the incident please also check dash-cam footage and contact officers if there is anything that might help.”
