A man has died in hospital after being pulled from Loch Lomond during a major rescue operation.

Emergency crews rushed to the scene near to Ardvorlich at around 10.30pm on Saturday, July 12, after police received a report of a concern for a man.

Loch Lomond Rescue Boat (LLRB) was also called by the Scottish Ambulance Service to attend the incident on a beach between Inveruglas and Ardlui.

The 50-year-old was recovered from the water and he was taken to Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley, where he died on Sunday July 13.

Police say enquiries are ongoing into his death, though there are not thought to be any suspicious circumstances.
