Officers have made an arrest in connection with the death of a man whose remains were found near Loch Lomond.

Graham Wright’s remains were discovered on Rubha Dubh, near Firkin Point, on September 13.

The 38-year-old was reported missing on August 25 after being last seen on August 20 in the Gorbals area.

Officers have now arrested a 50-year-old man in connection with the death.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “A 50-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the death of 38-year-old Graham Wright.

“His family has been informed and they are being supported by specially trained officers.

“Extensive enquiries are ongoing.”

Forensic teams have been seen at the old Blairbeth Golf Club in Castlemilk amid the ongoing investigation into Mr Wright’s death.

A block of flats at Ardencraig Quadrant in Castlemilk was also sealed off.

Searches were also carried out close to the Jenniburn Centre, Ardenglen community hub and nearby woodland.

Properties in Rutherglen and the Gorbals have previously been searched as part of the investigation.

Officers previously charged a 53-year-old man with attempting to defeat the ends of justice.

John Roarty appeared at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Thursday, where he made no plea and was remanded in custody.
