Man, 37, seriously injured in hospital after city centre 'disturbance'

Emergency crews raced to Buchanan Street at around 5am on Saturday and the man was taken to the Royal Infirmary, police said.

A man has been rushed to hospital with serious injuries following a disturbance in Glasgow city centre.

Emergency crews rushed to Buchanan Street at around 5am on Saturday (Nov 16) and the 37-year-old was taken to the Royal Infirmary.

Police confirm they are carrying out enquiries into the incident and are appealing to the public for information.

A force spokesperson said: “Around 5am on Saturday, November 16, 2024, we were called to a report of a disturbance on Buchanan Street, Glasgow.

“Emergency services attended and a 37-year-old man was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary for treatment to serious injuries.

“Extensive enquiries are ongoing.

“Anyone with any information should contact police on 101, quoting incident 0641 of Saturday, 16 November, 2024.”
