A man has been taken to hospital after being hit by a car in Kilmarnock.

The pedestrian was on Sturrock Street around 6.35pm on Wednesday when he was hit by a white Ford Focus.

The 32-year-old was taken to hospital for treatment.

Officers closed the road for investigations before it was reopened around 8.30pm.

Sergeant Brian Simpson said: “Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances and we are asking anyone who witnessed the crash to get in touch.”

Anyone with information is asked to call Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 2819 of September 16, 2026.
