A man has been arrested in connection with an alleged rape in a lane near Glasgow’s Queen Street station.

Emergency services were called to Anchor Lane at around 2.10am in the early hours of Thursday morning following reports of a serious sexual assault.

Officers arrested a 28-year-old man following the alleged attack.

An investigation into the incident is still ongoing.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 2.10am on Thursday, September 25, 2025, we received a report of a serious sexual assault in the Anchor Lane area of Glasgow.

“A 28-year-old man has been arrested and enquiries are ongoing.”
