A man has died following a crash involving a lorry and car in Dumfries and Galloway.
Emergency services were called to the B7076 near to its junction with the A709 Dumfries to Lockerbie Road around 11.50pm on Tuesday following a crash involving a BMW 1 series and articulated lorry.
Police said a 23-year-old man, the driver of the car, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the lorry, a 65-year-old man, did not require hospital treatment.
Officers are now keen to speak to the driver of a red car that was travelling southbound on the B7076 before the crash.
Sergeant Colin Ramage said: “We are providing support to the family of the man who died as our enquiries continue to establish the full circumstances of this crash.
“We would appeal to anyone who was driving on the B7076 around the time of crash, who either witnessed it take place or who has any information that may assist. Any driver with dashcam footage is asked to please contact us as soon as possible.
“We are particularly keen to speak to the driver of a red car travelling southbound on the B7076 prior to the crash who may be able to assist with our investigation.
“Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101 quoting incident number 4261 of October 29.”
