A 21-year-old man has been charged in connection with the death of a man in North Lanarkshire at the weekend.
Emergency services were called to Stirling Street in Airdrie at around 2.45am on Sunday after a 33-year-old man was assaulted and injured.
Jamie Lucas was pronounced dead at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital a short while later.
Police have since arrested and charged a 21-year-old in connection with the death and investigations into the incident continue.
He is expected to appear at Airdrie Sheriff Court on Tuesday, December 24.
Detective chief inspector Jamie Campbell said: “My thoughts remain with Jamie’s family and friends. We continue to offer them support at this very difficult time.
“I’d like to thank members of the local community for their support during our investigations. Anyone with information who has not yet spoken to police is asked to come forward.
