Pedestrian rushed to hospital after being hit by bus in city centre

The collision occurred shortly before 2pm on Saturday on Midland Street in Glasgow.

A pedestrian has been taken to hospital after being hit by a bus in Glasgow. 

The incident occurred shortly before 2pm on Saturday on Midland Street in the city centre. 

Emergency services rushed to the scene following the collision and a male pedestrian was taken to hospital for treatment. 

It is unknown if anyone else was injured in the crash, however emergency services remain at the scene.

Police said Midland Street is currently closed between Jamaica Street and Oswald Street and motorists are urged to use alternative routes. 

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 1.55pm on Saturday, August 20, police were called to the Midland Street area of Glasgow, following a report of a crash involving a bus and a male pedestrian. 

“The pedestrian was taken to hospital for treatment and emergency services remain at the scene.

“Midland Street is currently closed between Jamaica Street and Oswald Street and motorists are asked to use alternative routes at this time.”
