A 17-year-old male has been arrested following the alleged stabbing of teenager Kayden Moy.
The 16-year-old from East Kilbride died in hospital after being found seriously injured on the North Ayrshire beach following a report of a disturbance at around 6.45pm on Saturday, May 17.
He received medical care at the scene and died in hospital on Sunday, May 18.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Following enquiries into the death of a 16-year-old male on a beach in Irvine on Saturday, May 17, officers have arrested a 17-year-old male.
“Enquiries into the death are ongoing.”
A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
