Google MapsThe M80 has been restricted due to a vehicle fire and collision in Cumbernauld.
Emergency services were alerted to the incident around 5.46pm on Monday evening.
Traffic Scotland confirmed that the northbound carriage way was restricted at junction five due to the blaze.
The carriage was briefly closed at 6.35pm before opening on restricted access around 7pm.
Drivers have been advised to use alternatives routes where possible.
Latest updates from Traffic Scotland say that drivers on the northbound carriageway should expect delays of approximately 40 minutes.
