A major road in Glasgow city centre will be reduced to one lane for eight weeks in the New Year due to sewage repair.
Scottish Water said essential works will take place on Hope Street between West George Street and West Regent Street for approximately two months from Monday, January 6.
The utility service is also to close West Regent Lane to all vehicles between Renfield Street and Hope Street.
Footpaths and businesses are to be open as normal with some delays expected.
Road users are being advised to plan ahead and allow extra time for their journeys.
A Scottish Water spokesperson said: “The work is urgently needed to address internal sewer flooding and we will do all that we can to carry it out as quickly and safely as possible.
“We appreciate it is going to be inconvenient for people living in and travelling through the city centre, but this really is the only way we can carry out the repair safely.
“We will work with affected businesses and residents to minimise the impact of the works and we would like to thank everyone for their patience and understanding.”
