Major train routes have been closed as heavy rain batters Scotland, flooding rail lines.

ScotRail has confirmed that all lines between Arrochar, Tarbet and Ardlui are closed due to flooding.

The closure comes as parts of Scotland have once again been hit with torrential rain in the wake of Storm Debi.

The Met Office issued a yellow weather warning for rain on Monday, which will be in force from 10am until 9pm.

Forecasters said the fourth named storm of the season would mainly hit Northern Ireland, but areas of Scotland would feel strong ripple effects including up to 50mm of rain.

Network Rail said in an update that rainfall had reduced but residual water is flowing from the hillside to the track.

They added that staff were working to mitigate waterflow by digging a drainage channel, adding that damage to the track is minimal.

The rail service provider confirmed that three replacement bus services at Crianlarich would run to Glasgow Queen Street and call at all stations.

The buses have an estimated arrival time of 3:45pm on Monday afternoon.
