Passengers have been warned of disruption to train services in the west of Scotland after a loss of power to overhead cables.

ScotRail confirmed on Monday morning that due to a failure of electricity supply, all lines between Barassie and Irvine have been closed.

Engineers are currently on the scene investigating the fault.

Replacement buses have been requested, and customers have been advised to make their own travel arrangements at this time.

In a separate incident, emergency services are responding to an incident between Barrhead and Glasgow Central.

This has resulted in delays to rail services across the network at this time.
