One in hospital after crash involving mobility scooter and car

Emergency services closed down Baillieston's Main Street after the crash at around 2pm on Friday.

A road has been closed in both directions and a person is in hospital following a crash involving a car and a mobility scooter in Glasgow.

Emergency services were called to Main Street, Baillieston, after receiving reports of the collision at around 2pm.

The Scottish Ambulance Service confirmed that one person was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital as a result of the crash.

Their current condition is unknown as this stage.

Main Street, between Dyke Street and Martin Crescent, currently remains closed to all traffic and drivers are asked to avoid the area at this time.

A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We received a call at 1.54pm to attend a road traffic collision on Main Street, Baillieston.

“We dispatched two ambulances to the scene and one patient was transported to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.”
