Machete, drugs and cloned reg plates seized from stolen car after police chase

A machete, drugs and cloned registration plates were seized from a stolen car following a police chase in Glasgow.

Officers spotted two wanted males travelling in a stolen vehicle on Hamilton Road in Cambuslang and began a short pursuit.

The vehicle was brought to a stop, and during the arrest of the men, officers recovered a machete, a concealed knife, a quantity of controlled drugs and cloned vehicle registration plates.

Both men were arrested and are due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Friday.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “Outstanding proactive work by all involved- keeping our communities safe and violent offenders off the streets.

“Officers involved yesterday would also like to pass on their thanks to the members of the public who helped them during this incident.”
