The M80 motorway is closed in both directions between Cumbernauld and Haggs following a serious crash.
Emergency services were called to the road near Junction 7 following reports of a one-vehicle crash.
The Scottish Ambulance Service was in attendance and Police Scotland closed the northbound carriageway at around 1.35pm on Saturday.
It is not known if there have been any casualties.
There were delays of over an hour as traffic built up following the incident and the southbound carriageway was closed.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 1.35pm on Saturday, February 5, officers were called to the M80 near Junction 7, following a report of a one-vehicle crash. Emergency services remain at the scene.”
