M8 multi-vehicle crash causes traffic chaos during early morning rush

A multi-vehicle crash caused major disruption on the M8 eastbound on Tuesday morning.

The collision near Junction 6 at Newhouse, east of Glasgow, saw long delays after the carriageway was reduced to one lane.

Emergency services were called to the scene after the crash at around 6.40am.

All lanes were cleared shortly after but traffic remained slow.

Police Scotland has been contacted for comment.
