A slip road on to the M8 has been closed in both directions after a vehicle “caught fire”.

Traffic Scotland warned drivers to avoid the area on the M898 southbound exit slip to the M8 eastbound at junction 30.

The road was closed after 8.30pm.

M898 S/B Slip to M8 Junction 30 E/B is currently closed due to a vehicle fire.

A Traffic Scotland post read: “The M898 southbound exit slip to the M8 eastbound at Junction 30 is currently closed due to a vehicle fire.

“Motorists are advised to use an alternative route at this time.”
