Police said the overturned lorry was blocking two lanes on the motorway.

Two people have been taken to hospital.

Motorists were urged to use alternative routes, with Traffic Scotland warning of delays of at least 35 minutes.

The road was cleared around 10.45am.

A spokesperson for the force said on Thursday morning: “Around 7.35am on Thursday, 20 April, police were called to a report of a road crash on the M8 westbound, near J13.

“The carriageway is closed and officers are at the scene.”
