The motorway was closed at Junction 24 Helen Street, near Govan Police Station, with traffic being directed off to an alternative route.

Glasgow’s traffic management said the impact would cause further congestion throughout the city’s network during the morning peak.
Helen Street was also closed northbound from Paisley Road West to the slips onto the motorway.
Heavy rain saw surface water and localised flooding in parts of the city on Tuesday morning.
Drivers in North and South Lanarkshire were warned to be cautious due to conditions on the roads.
