Major delays after lorry crashes and sheds load of wood on motorway

Several road closures are in place on M8 and M77 after a lorry crashed and shed a load of wood onto the carriageway.

The lorry crashed on the M8 near the M77 around 5.30pm on Tuesday.

The M8 has been closed at junction 22 eastbound and partially closed westbound.

The M77 is closed northbound on the approach to the M8 with traffic leaving at Junction 1.

Drivers are being urged to avoid the area.

There are no reports of any injuries.
