M74 partially closed during rush hour after crash

The M74 has been partially closed after a crash in the early hours of Friday morning.

Traffic Scotland confirmed the motorway is restricted at Junction 12-13 near Abington in South Lanarkshire after a collision at around 5.45am.

Drivers are advised to use caution on approach and expect delays.

Emergency services remain at the scene.

Traffic Scotland wrote: “The M74 Northbound J13-12 remains closed due to an ongoing road traffic collision. Emergency services are at scene.

“Traffic is currently being diverted via the B7078 back onto the M74 at J11.

“Please use an alternative route and allow extra travel time.”
