Traffic Scotland/XA lane on the M74 was blocked at rush hour due to bricks being on the carriageway.
Traffic Scotland advised drivers lane one was blocked heading south between junction five and six near Hamilton after 7.50am on Monday.
The Trunk Road Incident Support Service (TRISS) were called to the scene with traffic in the area building up.
Drivers are being urged to use caution on approach.
Traffic Scotland said: “The M74 is currently restricted, southbound, at Junction 6, due to a shed load on the carriageway.
“Drivers should use caution on approach.”
