M74 closed after crash as drivers urged to avoid area

Parts of the M74 have been closed due to a crash in South Lanarkshire.

Traffic Scotland confirmed the road at junction 13 was closed due to a collision around 7.22pm on Friday.

Latest updates at 9.07pm confirmed the southbound road had reopened but northbound remains closed.

Emergency services are in attendance and drivers have been urged to use alternative routes.

Traffic Scotland said a diversion is being implemented.

Police Scotland has been contacted for comment.
