Police are appealing for witnesses after an HGV crashed and overturned on the M74.
The vehicle had been travelling southbound on the M73 around 12.10pm on April 7 before continuing on to the M74 northbound on-slip where it collided with the crash barrier, coming to rest on the flyover.
The incident caused extensive damage to the crash barrier and diesel leaked from the fuel tank onto the roadway and on-slip.
The road was closed for a number of hours while repairs were carried out.
Emergency services were called to the scene and the 33-year-old driver was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary to be checked over.
Sergeant Chris McColm from Road Policing said: “Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances surrounding the collision and we are appealing for any motorists who witnessed what happened to please get in touch.
“We would particularly like to hear from anyone who may have dash-cam footage of the HGV in the lead up or at the time of the incident.
“Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 1338 of Thursday, April 4, 2024.”
