A lorry driver has died at the scene of a crash in Dumfries and Galloway as the road remains closed.
Emergency services were called to the collision on the A716 at Drummore, Rhins of Galloway around 9.30am on Wednesday involving a white DAF lorry.
The driver, a 56-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police confirmed the road remains closed.
Sergeant Andrew Hogg said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who has died at this difficult time.
“Enquiries are ongoing and we are appealing to anyone who witnessed the crash to contact us.
“We’d also ask anyone with dash-cam footage which could assist our enquiries to come forward.”
