Looking bonnie: Revamp for ‘iconic’ Loch Lomond restaurant

A well-known restaurant overlooking Loch Lomond has undergone a major transformation.

Duck Bay, owned by a brother and sister team, has been situated on the bonnie banks for 35 years.

It also now features a new-look cafe and bar.

The restaurant first opened in 1985 and was run by husband and wife duo Bobby and Margaret Cawley until it was passed onto their children, Alan and Margo.

They also own four other restaurants across Scotland.

Alan said: “Later this year we’ll roll out further refurbishment to our hotel rooms. It’s an exciting time for the business.”

Gordon McKean, relationship director at Barclays Corporate Banking in Scotland, which helped fund the revamp, said: “Duck Bay is an iconic Loch Lomond destination.

“We are pleased to have supported its recent refurbishment and to have offered the group the facilities they require for future growth.”
