Lifeboat crews rescue two men found struggling in the water at Loch Lomond

The men were saved after a rescue operation was launched just before noon on Tuesday.

Two men have been rescued after getting into difficulty in the water at Loch Lomond.

Loch Lomond Rescue Boat (LLRB) was notified by police about reports of a person in the water near the Cruin Jetty around 11.45am.

A rescue team was sent to the area and discovered one man who had been in the water for 40 minutes.

A second man was also found struggling in the water.

The team said: “Crew launched immediately and once on scene recovered one male who had been in the water for around 40 minutes into the rescue boat whilst remaining crew entered the water to assist a second male who was struggling.

“Both males were given casualty care by the crew and taken ashore to be monitored until the arrival of Scottish Ambulance Service.

“We wish both males a speedy recovery.”

Police Scotland has been contacted for comment.
