Learner drivers charged for 'driving without insurance, plates or licences'

The pair were stopped in Glasgow in the space of 24 hours without insurance, licences, learner plates or a qualified motorist in the car.

Two learner drivers have been charged after driving unaccompanied without a licence, insurance or learner plates in Glasgow.

The pair, caught in the Kinning Park area of the city, were stopped by road police on Tuesday and Wednesday when it was discovered they had not passed their tests.

Learner drivers may only drive on UK roads if L plates are displayed and a qualified motorist is also in the car.

The two learners were charged and later reported to the procurator fiscal, Police Scotland said.
